A Real Live Ugly Flash

Post by Kanastrous »

Well, I'll make my first post a vent. What the hell, seems like this is an appropriate place for it...

Every so often, if you're paying attention, you get to see a real live ugly flash of Evil. Like Stanley's nightmare in Richard III wherein he sees Richard as the snarling boar, or the glimpse of Iblis' black demon-face when Starbuck shoots him, in War of the Gods.

From Maputo, Mozambique...

The head of the Catholic church in Mozambique said on Wednesday he believed some European-made condoms were deliberately tainted with the HIV/AIDS virus to kill African people.

“I know of two countries in Europe who are making condoms with (the) virus on purpose, they want to finish with African people as part of their program to colonize the continent,” Archbishop Francisco Chimoio told Reuters.

“If we are not careful we will finish in one century."

Yup.

On a continent where drug therapy is widely unavailable and unaffordable, where grown men rape young girls in the belief that virgin's blood will cure them of the virus, where women are frequently denied the right to refuse unprotected sex, there's a for-real servant of Evil, telling his flock - for whom he professes tenderest concern and selfless love - that the most effective available prophylactic against slow painful death, is in fact itself the problem.

Today the boar-faced demon wears an Archbishop's mitre.

It looks good on him.

I bet this twat of epic proportions knows that it´s not true.

When i was there i spoke to a lot of people living there and often the subject would somehow shift to HIV. Often the reason cited for not using condoms was "You don´t go swimming in a rain coat" or some similarly silly line. Reasons like this were given even by more educated individuals. Furthermore i heard the myth that Fidel Castro has a cure for Aids but doesn´t want to tell anybody in order to bother the Americans relatively often. Also form relatively educated people.
And it was impossible to convince them of something else. It´s really sad. These people need to get a reasonable education somehow.

You know, if we really wanted to wipe out Zimbabwe and fill it up with blue eyed blondes we could do that right now, without waiting a century for some mythical AIDS-filled condom conspiracy to work. It's not like they could put up much resistance to a First World military.

It's the same problem as the black idiots here saying whites are trying to wipe them out or bring back slavery. Dude, if we were really that evil, we wouldn't have to dick around with convoluted, time-intensive conspiracies. We'd just go Nazi on your asses.

This kind of whacked-out conspiracy-mongering is very popular throughout the Muslim world, too. The more backward the country, it seems, the more widespread the readiness to buy into it.

Not to suggest that we don't have a streak of that here, too (9-11 conspiracies, anyone?) but it's extra-sad to see this kind of mind-poison spread among people whose survival depends upon knowing better.

Nobody ever wants to hear that a scientific mindset is the solution to many social ills because there are so many die-hard anti-scientific types here in western countries. But it's still true; so much of this bullshit would go away if people thought in a more scientific way.

Mozambique is not an islamic country.
And backwardness raising the readiness to buy into is not really surprising. The lack of education keeps people from being sceptical. Hell, you can make good money there by being a fuckign witch doctor.

It is a staggering disconnect: the vast populations in developed countries, who are only too happy to take advantage of every last consumer product or service derived from advances in disciplines like biology, physics, chemistry, et all, while plugging their ears and singing la, la, la when it comes to the social and philosophical implications of the methods by which those advances were made.

I know. That's why I wrote, 'in the Muslim world, too.'

Although oddly enough I've seen a number of witch doctors admit that when *they* get sick, they're happy to go visit the nearest modern medical practitioner...

Proof that crazy<>stupid.
