Stupid Idea? Congressional Consorts.

Post by Lagmonster »

I've been amusing myself trying to visualize the resume of a Congressional Consort in some sort of America where prostitution was legal and people didn't care if the President gets a blowjob. Problem is, I can't seem to decide whether it's a viable idea even in idealistic theory. I keep drifting away to thinking about someone highly literate, sexually liberal, with substantial education in philosophy, art, psychology, politics, counselling, and a variety of other wishy-washy fields. But then I shake it off and think, "I'm severely over-romanticizing the idea, creating a Pretty Woman or Firefly sort of individual or station which would be difficult to control or impossible to derive benefit from, and the last thing we need is politicians being guided by the Department of Homeland Orgasms".

Am I just taking the geek-fantasy route of romanticizing the idea of such a profession, or is there something to the idea of a "sometimes counselor, sometimes lover" official political post or station?

Bear in mind that I know that this is impractical for social reasons, not the least of which is the fact that Presidents and Congressmen tend to be married (although that doesn't do jack shit to stop them from messing around). I'm looking for why this might be impractical from an implementation or management viewpoint, such as that such a post would require skills not accessible in one person, or it would be too insecure, or bureaucratic or political reasons one wouldn't want to create an official position such as that.
Note: I'm semi-retired from the board, so if you need something, please be patient.

Why bother? People who go to prostitutes generally just want something to screw, they're not going for the scintillating conversation or advice on their careers. Some individuals might, but for the most part the main requirement for the position would probably be more along the lines of "must be a hot piece of ass and have a congenial personality".
