I think I speak for all mainstream Americans when I say that the very suggestion of such a thing is a highly offensive slander. The American people, government included regardless of administration, would rather fight and die to the last man, woman, and child than create individuals for tools of war. The reason that Americans had such outcry in Vietnam is that many of them didn't understand why we were over there or why it was important. When America fights for a just and vital goal the nation unites behind it because the people arn't fighting for a dictator or a government, they're fighting for themselves.
You don't speake for a majority of americans there skippy, and I take it we've not been watching the news lately........America hasn't been "by the people, for the people, of the people" for quite some time. Do not for a second think that the people in power give a rats ass about the people of America, they count votes and opinion polls, and what keeps the money coming into their pockets. The current US government is making the slow transition from republic to facist state, you just wont know it until your in a re-education camp for enemies of the state. If you don't believe me , read the text of the Patriot Act, it nicely begins to shred that meddelsome document known as the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and paves the way for full state control. The America you believe in died like a comatose cancer patient on Sept 11th, and it never coming back. Thanks to govt sponsored and covertly controled media, and the mind numbing effects of network television, most Americans will never realize what has happened, hell most will cheer from the sidewalks, thanking the leaders who made them 'safe' and punished the evil terrorists, all the while they sink deeper and deeper into the abyss. The facists don't wear brown and follow swastikas anymore, they wear a t-shirt from Abercrombie and Fitch and Tomy jeans, and the'll heard you off to the showers just as quick as any SS Comadant. Think I'm crazy, maybe, but I've seen this dance before , they just changed the music..........

That is the key. No one from home gets hurt, and then the powers that be will wage all the war they want with no precussions at home...Well, fewer than what has been shown in the past. Not a good idea though, as it wold/could lead to a government that gets out of control...

Hhmmm, this sounds familier.

Its true, Americans , much like the Athenians and Romans before them, squandered the gift of prior generations toil in the form of Republican or Democratic government. As long as 'Friends' gets renewed for another season and McDonalds makes another McAssSlab Extra Value meal, they really could give two shits less about little niceties such as free speech, freedom of the press, assembly, protection form illegal search and siezure, and due process of law. Most of America is to stupid to know what to do with the freedoms our forefathers laid out for us in the first place. In order to have freedom of speech(and by proxy press) you have to be able to publish the Bible right along side "Hustler", this is a given according to the First Amendment, yet the courts have had to spend years of man hours of time explaining to people that you can't have one(the Bible) without the other(Hustler) without violating the Constitution, but still the lawsuits come aginst all forms of sexual publications and other forms of speech that people find offensive. Most people, short of a small minority of us who actually understand these issues, would much rather be told what to think and feel, hell TV does it all the time, and look how successful they are. Freedom is wasted on these slugs in human form who refuse to participate, learn about or manage their government. They deserve, are acomplices in creating, the terror and misery that they will reap for their ignorance and shallowness.
the real bitch of it is, I don't even think they will remember or realize what was lost, they never used any of thoes rights in the first place or we wouldn't be in the situation we are in right now. I know I'm a cynic, a severe one at that, and no one would be happier than me to discover that this is all just one of my sleep deprived late night ramblings, but I fear that wth the clarity of rest will only come further horror, and the realization that its all going, going,...gone.....break out the eagles Sturmbahnfurher Bush, your people follow you........right into the jaws of hell.

uhm, my statement was meant as a joke, but whatever.

after democracy, fascism is my fav concept. not the racial stuff mind you, but the streamlined culture devoted to war.

course, democracy and the bill of rights aren't hand in hand either.

One small bit of history corection.

The Nazi's did NOT give steriods to soldiers, they gave them methadrine!
Steroids were not even invented until the fifties. www.hughston.com/hha.11.2.3.htm
Steriods and selective breeding won't give you soldiers fast enough to be worth the health downsides.
Breeding OBVIOUSLY would take, well, GENERATIONS for the program to fruit!
Steriods only increase muscle mass and density, with agression boosted.
This causes fratracide,(barfight syndrome gone uber) and a much higher rate of injury-death, by pushing your luck.
Soldiers with more endurance,(meth-nazis)and greater levels of common sence, perform more EFFECTIVELY, and don't "piss themselves away" taking unnessesary/foolish chances.

If you want robots, USE robots. When they become available.
Edit; I must not be doing this right, as the link won't work. Google search-keywords "invention anabolic steroids"
Hmmmmmm.

Dear me, I thought the thread creator had instructed us not to engage in such political debate.

As to the issue at hand: well, someone will do it sooner or later if it's effective and efficient, although certainly a Geneva type resolution against such offending parties could theoretically halt the use of 'Super Soldiers.'

LOL...like it stopped the use of aircraft, gas warfare, and the machinegun? Resolutions don't do jack against someone unwilling to follow them. That's why restraining orders are one of the dumbest ideas in law enforcement.

When has an international resolution prohibited military aircraft or machine guns??

However, I do know of a treaty - I think it was the St. Petersburg Resolution - which prohibited the use of beam weapons.
