You have a good point there, I'm going to go for the parallel. Bats are from tree rats and birds are from raptors. The wing structure of pterosaurs and bats reflects their parachuting heritage - the flaps of skin stretched between limbs evolved into wings. But a feathered wing in only really useful as a a parachute if it's also a fully funtional wing.
if you're realyl interested, read up on the early birds and feathered raptors. Perching and tree dwelling seems to have evolved after flying. For trees down, climbing needs to have evolved first, and no ancestral bird had many climbing adaptations.
Suck it down fundie bitches. EVOLUTION ROCKS ONWARDS!

Ya sure it aint the other way 'round? Cause them bats gots some nasty dinosaur-like teeth, ya know. (Of course, now that I've joked about this, every fundie and their dog are going to claim that there's no 'consistency in evolutionist mantra' and claim victory with theories born from Christian diploma-mills)SyntaxVorlon wrote:You have a good point there, I'm going to go for the parallel. My bad, probably should have added the to that line. In short, I was being sarcastic. His Divine Shadow wrote:Does it suprise you that birds are related to reptiles? Both lay egg and a crocodile tastes like chicken.Knife wrote:What, birds came from dino's?
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Yeah, otherwise the same thing could be said of frogs, tuna, squid, spiders, and PTA board members.Knife wrote:My bad, probably should have added the to that line.
