Ray you might want to point out the damage done to our planet by burning fossil fuels.

If the world as a whole had embraced the power of the atom in the sixties our world might have been a far healthier place now.

Though of cause there is no way of knowing that for sure, but hell with the level of arguments you describe by your opponents ..who cares.
