Ethics of preventitive warfare to stop climate changeS

Post by TithonusSyndrome »

Simply put, given a situation where a country (or several countries) refuses to cut carbon emissions despite the immediate, certain and widely accepted prospect of catastrophic life-taking climate change, at what point would military resolutions become feasible and even necessary? I don't think it'll ever come to that realistically, but it would suck if it did and nobody had taken it into account.

Never. After all, the only ones that matter are strong enough to protect themselves.

Depends on your definiation of military resolutions.

Properly conducted biological warfare, for example.

However, it will probably never come to that. Once you have the big players all going 'we're crapped if we don't do something!' the others will have to fall in line, or have there economies crash and have no choice.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

It's so when they comment on or approve of something, I know what pages to block/what not to vote for.
