The Hindu milk miracle

Re: The Hindu milk miracle
I don't know the specific name for it. But whats happening is the touching of the milk to the statue causes it to draw the milk from the spoon to the statues surface. From there is just drains to the ground. Nothing magical about it.

Now I want to dry it with a non religious statue. Even if you have no idea how this works, if it can be replicated on an ordinary statue, then you have a powerful argument against the "miracle" of this phenomenon.
I have a few gargoyles in my house. Maybe this could be the gargoyle milk miracle, and maybe I can film it and post in on youtube as well.

At the start of the 'miracle' in 1995, we had a local television channel demonstrate the same effect on an iron anvil at a workshop.

Re: The Hindu milk miracle
It's complete and utter bullshit. As is typically the case with many so-called "unexplainable" miracles swallowed hook, line, and sinker by well-meaning, but gullible people. It's due to simple surface tension, capillary action, or even outright fraud. As has been said, the effect has been demonstrated on perfectly non-religious statuary and completely non-statuary items; like blacksmith's anvils. There is also nothing stopping unscrupulous temple operators from having statues made with tubes inside them.

I'd go with "fraud"

It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn't feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.
