Does anyone know if its possible to detect a radiosignal if it pulses for less time then one cycle?
For instance, can you detect (or even transmit) a 1MHz pulse that is only one half of a millionth of a second?

I would ask why couldn't you send/receive/detect a signal of less than a full cycle? The frequency of a signal is independent of the signal's duration.
However, the shorter the duration, the harder it would be to determine the signal's frequency with accuracy. Too, most radio signals consist of data modulated against a carrier wave, a signal of known frequency.
