Any suggestions for blogs to be reading during slow times at work or podcasts to download for long flights? I, personally, tend to migrate towards the science-based medicine and nutrition (that is, debunking the anti-GMO crowd, anti-vaxers, oncology scams, etc.), anti-psychic, and creationism aspects of the skeptical movement.
I'm a pretty avid listener of The Skeptics Guide to the Universe (http://www.theskepticsguide.com), and I'm one of the few who appears to have enjoyed it more since Rebecca Watson left. I have recently picked up Skeptically Yours (http://skepticallyyours.net/), though I've not listened enough to make a judgement on it yet. I recently stopped listening to the Conspiracy Skeptic (http://www.yrad.com/cs/) because, though I found the content very interesting, I couldn't stand the presentation style of the host. I occasionally will listen to The Skeptic Zone (http://www.skepticzone.tv/), and I've been meaning to work it more in to my rotation lately. I was previously a big fan of Skeptoid (http://www.skeptoid.com), as I enjoyed the short single-issue format and educational style, but since Mr. Dunning's little run-in with the law and white-collar incarceration, the show has dropped in quality under the guest hosts.

Rebecca is gone from Skeptics Guide to the Universe? I might start listening again, I stopped because SKU simply stopped covering interesting bits of news. They put out hour plus long podcast where the banter was non-existent and the topics uninteresting.
Did not even know Dunning was up for Wire Fraud and that's funny as Skeptoid was the perfect minipodcast to recommend, 15 minutes long on one subject which was perfect to dig up an episode on one subject and send it to someone.
As for other podcasts, I think you got all the major ones.

Yep, Dunning has been out of the spotlight for the show for a while now. He should be coming up on release soon. I'll probably start listening to it when he gets back on, simply because of the fact that he is a good presenter, and as long as the content is good I'll listen regardless of my feelings toward him or his actions.
Rebecca could be occasionally entertaining and provided an interesting counterweight, but at the same time she could be extremely annoying with her snide remarks, was horribly over-sensitive and reactionary, and rarely added anything of substance to the show. It was just a very rare occurrence that she would make a salient point or add to the factual aspects of discussions.

When Perry was alive she had a point as she was a foil to his randomness but with his death she lost her point and was nothing but snide remarks a solid 80% of the time. I remember episodes where Rebecca introduced herself at the start of the show, shared one news story and made fun of Bob but was otherwise utterly silent.Nathan F wrote: Rebecca could be occasionally entertaining and provided an interesting counterweight, but at the same time she could be extremely annoying with her snide remarks, was horribly over-sensitive and reactionary, and rarely added anything of substance to the show. Spot on. I only vaguely remember the episodes with Perry from when I just started listening to the show. I should go back and re-visit some of the old episodes.Mr Bean wrote: When Perry was alive she had a point as she was a foil to his randomness but with his death she lost her point and was nothing but snide remarks a solid 80% of the time. I like "The Non-Prophets" - 2 of the hosts are also D&D artists/game developers. They mainly deal with atheism, though skepticism and humanism are big focuses as well.

I love SGU, but I could take or leave Rebecca. Maybe it is because I don't read skepchick so I don't have that prejudice, but I don't see why her participation on the show was that objectionable. The whole elevatorgate 'scandal' was a really stupid thing to get upset over. I probably shouldn't be judging the RW haters as a whole, but it is pretty hard for me to take them seriously after a bunch them shit themselves over a completely harmless vlog.
