Are you sure, cause from all the videos i saw about controlled demolition, many fall straight down.Captain Seafort wrote:Moreover, AFAIK when a controlled demolition is carried out on a big building, it's set up to fall sideways, so that those doing it know where it's going to land, rather than trying to drop it vertically with the risk of it going all over the place (as happened with the towers).

Depends on location. If they can, they lay it on the side, easier to aim and easier to remove the rubble if you don't have to go through a huge pile.
In a dense city, though, vertical collapse it is.

A vertical collapse requires more work and explosives to ensure that you know were it is going to end up. This is something the CT's are never willing to think about. Even then they try and cause the building to fall into on one side or the other of the site and it isn't truly straight down. Most of the time say the left side collapses first and the rest falls down into that area.LaCroix wrote:Depends on location. On the subject of the building falling over like a 'tree' that is kind of(you can only say 'kind of' because buildings don't act like trees) what actually happened to building 7. It fell forward onto the area into the front of the building and not actually into its own footprint. Those that claim that it did never show the site post collapse but after it was already partially cleaned up. It is the biggest reason that they only ever use films of the collapse from the north side. Any other view makes it very clear how damaged the building was.

Something I always feel I'm missing on the "controlled demolition" argument: the government apparently (under the conspiracy theory model) had already decided that thousands of American lives and billions of dollars in property damage were acceptable (maybe even desirable) losses for whatever nefarious purpose they were going for, so WHY bother with a controlled demolition at all? Isn't the point of those usually to minimize collateral damage and help make clean up more efficient? Just seems totally unnecessary, even counter productive, when your master plan is "cause massive fucking tragedy." Never mind the fact that a controlled demolition is (apparently) a highly suspicious thing as well, as opposed to just letting the buildings fall whichever way.
Granted, I understand that some people would probably be calling it a controlled demolition no matter what way they fell, but I'm more wondering about the internal logic involved.

They start with the assumption the jets couldn't bring down the towers.
Yes. That too is stupid.

But why make a situation with planes in the first place if that is the case? Why not just make up a story of the terrorists getting their hands on a load of thermite and performing the thing themselves, without bothering with the plane bit?

Because they know that terrorists could not have set up thermite and other charges without getting noticed by... pretty much everyone in the building. That kind of operation would need days of work with heavy equipment to bare the beams for the charges to be placed, "truckloads" of explosives and miles of wire running through most of the building.
The state, though - by fiat - was able to set all this up without anyone of the sacrificial lambs to be noticing.

It's more to it than that. It's not enough for then for there to be a conspiracy of religious zealots who put an attack together. IT HAS TO BE THEIR GROUP OF RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS. It has to be their 'behind the scenes' group that they believe control everything that happens in the world. They are in the business of selling themselves as holders of secret inside knowledge that no one else has. In the end it's all about the ego of the people that spread these conspiracies. There are those that take advantage of the situation and use it to sell to these idiots versions of exactly what they want to see and they fleece them for every cent they can get away with.
