Interpreting the dates in the bible literally (the world is 6000 years old) and yet claiming that nearly everything else is not supposed to be accepted as literal (Like, where did Cain's WIFE come from??).

Didn't Cain have a sister? Old fundie tradition, and it probably starts right there.

I've heard a lousy explanation in a flamewar:

Adam & Eve were part of a bunch of created people.
Response: 'So everyone was sinned because two of them ate an apple?'.

And after some hot questions the fundies began to say something like 'I wasn't born then, how should I know?' or 'These are myths, they...etc'

The funniest thing is that after that a fundie posted a long essay titled "Don't read the Bible from a Nitpick Perspective".....in a whole bundle of fundie nitpicking threads (about evolution and Buddhism...but that's another story).
