A little debate help...

I'm debating with someone about the origin of the universe and he said something about the flaw of light consistency. What's he talking about here and how does it relate to the Big Bang Theory?

IIRC, c was much faster during the first few instants after the Big Bang, and he's using a strawman version of that to somehow prove that the Big Bang theory is wrong.

Article about the issue.

Essentially, he's saying, "They weren't EXACTLY right, so it's completely WRONG!" Just ask him how this "flaw of light consistency" issue proves anything. It still indicates a universe that's over 6,000 years old, since the "flaw" isn't that significant. Furthermore, a "flaw" would, by definition, rule out a flawless diety controlling every aspect of creation, now, wouldn't it?

I love the way Creationists will first say that science predicts change and change should not happen in a perfect creation, then claim that isotopic dating techniques are flawed because in the past the rate of decay was faster.
