The fact that the Roman Catholic church is a renegade, heretic branch.

Um...Christianity's persecution at the hands of Romans, its heretical status among the Jews (I seriously doubt Christianity would be easily recognizable today if the Jews hadn't crucified him, or, barring crucifiction (Which was a political necessity), then earlier adoption of his teachings), um....I dunno what else

I think the real question is: why did you open a chat window to converse with yourself and then post it in a message board?

You could have removed your name, though. Other than that, I'm not sure what you're proposing.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

Be sure to mention the paulites' persecuting the nazarenes to extinction. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but you should definately inquire more about it.

The nazarenes being another group of xians that popped up at the same time as the paul inspired stuff, the paul inspired stuff took a hold because it was more superpowered and pagan religion based, where as it's thought the nazarenes followed the actual teachings of jesus, not other people's interpretations....

Christainity has proven to be the Alien Xenomorph of religions, it can interbreed with any religion or cult and spit out a working model "re-christianized" ask the Celts and other pagans whose religious rites, holy days and holy places were absorbed by the Church and reiintrepretted to appeal to both the Christian faithful and newly converted. Christianity has always proven ready willing and able to adapt to changes to make itself relevent in new eras and against new religions. Only now that there are really three big competitors the church has entered an era of stagnation and rot.
Wherever you go, there you are.

stravo, thats true of pretty much all ancient religions tho. the greeks and
romans adopted some egyptian gods (isis), the egyptians adopted some
greek gods and babylonian gods, etc etc. Back then the idea of one or a
few gods being the ONLY gods was pretty much nonexistant. I think only
since the fanatical jews/christians came about did that begin to take shape.
even moses wasnt commanded to worship ONLY yhwh, just to worship him
the most.

i think scripture is that dangerous part. something /telling/ you how things
are. or atleast scripture claimed to be written by god.

on topic: anyone have a good website about the nazarenes or other early
christians?

Can't really be bothered looking for one atm.

but the dictionary speaks of them.
