Has anybody seen this movie? God, what a load of shit.
I find it funny that the main character takes every conceivable opportunity to insult the scientific establishment, which not only allowed her a cushy job chasing ghosts, but also created all the equipment she's using. Jeez.
Anyone else been subjected to this not-funny version of 'Ghostbusters' and felt cheapened by the experience?

I haven't seen it but after reading the review on Philelmore.com I decided that I don't want my brain sullied by watching it. Excellent review, check it out.

My fave quote from the review,
If the Haunted House has one good feature, it is that it generates food spontaneously. The kitchen has grub in it, though I don't know how keen I would be to eat food generated by ghosts, or whatever they are. Anyway, the movie devolves into a confused mess of people hallucinating, running down ever-growing hallways, and freaking out. Joyce goes from Normal to So Obsessed To Complete Her Psychic Mission That She Doesn't Care Who Dies in roughly three seconds, which for Stephen King constitutes a dynamic, developed character.
aerius: I'll vote for you if you sleep with me.
Lusankya: Deal!
Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

Stephen King has a lousy track record of quality books-to-movies. I don't think his stuff translates well to the big screen.
And on the subject of ghost story movies, NO ONE has yet to do it well. The most entertaining ghost stories out of folklore aren't long enough to fill a half-hour TV program, and they don't translate well to the big screen. It's a problem of too much 'hipness' creeping into them, snatchy punch lines, and the latest CGI all competing for space on the screen.
