Sweetest Debate Victory?

Post by LordShaithis »

What's yours? My favorite was the time when one of my regular creationist punching bags decided to call in a "big gun" in the form of some fundy who claimed to have a PhD in biology. He sent me a copy of his "scientific paper" where he claimed that increasing rates of genetic disease mean the human genome is breaking down over time, due to humankind being exiled from Eden. (Fuck, that DOES sound stupid!) Anyway, my two-year tech school attending ass immediately exposed some HUGE flaws in Mr. PhD's methodology, such as the complete lack of references to exactly which diseases his thirty years worth of numbers were tracking, what populations were being tested at what times, and what means of diagnoses had been used over the course of that time. I also forwarded it to Darth Wong, and got back a nice list of reasons why this idiot's conclusion would still be wrong even if genetic disease rates WERE proven to be increasing.

The guy completely crumbled, failed to address any criticism, ducked behind his wall of ignorance, and ran away. I spent another week calling him back out and taunting him via email, and heaping scorn upon the guy who called this fool in as his "champion" in the first place. I wish I had saved it. hehehehe
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

My favorite was when I used DumbShit's words against him to show how he was claiming that ISD LTL's were in the range of 200-350MTs.
