To high number, we cannot really understand what 150000 means.
But say 150 from your town but you do not know anyone of those instead, the answers might be different.
And to answet the OP
1. NO there is nothing in it for me, I might feel like an asshole afterwards but atleast I am alive.
2. I really do not know, if I do nothing it will happen through no fault of me. But if I act I will kill 1.5 mil and be up there with warcriminals in blood on my hands.
Would you Or Would you not?

Option a) Yes - I say this in spirit now but really... when your sitting at a computer typing its easy to take the moral high ground about a situation which you just imagine. In the real situation, its highly unlikely that it will be so clear cut because frankly. Everything has a history and that history will define what happens in the future.
Dying heroically dosent intrest me at all. Why should I care if thousands of people give a fuck if I die ? I will be dead afterall and frankly doing the heroic act is pretty much ego and vanity cropping up.
What matters to me is exactly how I am supposed to die. I would find it alot harder to kill myself or be killed in a way that is prolonged.
Option B) I wouldnt do anything.
The reason is simple. In option A) it directly affects me and rest entirely on something I can do. I am able to evaluate my life and accurately deem its worthiness.
However in this option I am essentially judging the value of living and sacrifice based on a number.
I have the option to let lots of people die or take action that will kill a smaller group.
I chose to do nothing. Although I would be honest and say after such a choice I would most likely commit suicide rather than live with it.
To be brutally honest. I wouldnt care if it was the entire population of the planet vs. a city. I simply do not consider myself worthy of the right to judge the value of sacrifice except my own.

To number one...yes, if someone else kileld me. I couldnt do it on my own, i'd chicken out, but if someone else i paid to do it (hire myself a hitman to assassinate me) did it i could go out without knowing from a sniper bullet or something. So yes, if i get to hire a hitman to take me out, as i cant see myself with the courage to do it on my own.
As to number two...i dont really know what to think. I'd probably be so crushed with depression i'd fall into catatonia either way. But just using simple math, i'd just have to do it. That WOULD probably crush me enough, either way, that i'd kill myself...so if the first one comes after the second there wouldnt be any problem.

1) I like to think I'd say yes. But really, I'd probably say no if you gave me long enough to think about it. I really don't want to die. Not like that, anyway. Wait 'til I'm old and grey.
2) Eh... I didn't kill myself to save lots of people, but I should kill 1.5m to save 100m? Meh. I'm not going to have that on my conscience. If I let the 100m die, it's apathy. I can live with apathy. If I kill the 1.5m instead, it's murder. I'm not fond of murder. Besides, the world's a tad overpopulated anyway. I suppose my decision would probably rest on how I felt at the time. Sometimes I fee all like... wanting to help people. Most of the time, I'm feeling sorry for myself, because 80%+ of the human race disgust me, and I'm part of the same species.

Regarding the first scenario, the answer would most likely be no. It's not only my life that's being lost but the infliction of suffering upon my family, friends, and significant others. From a utilitarian standpoint, that would be the less ethical thing to do but 1.5 million random people is no where as important to me than my friends and family. It is inconceivable for me to throw my life away and bring grief upon those so close to me for a population I know nothing of.
