Let's change the scenario a bit. Let's say that in 2004, the US and Iraq go to war, and along with Korea, Pakistan, and India blow up the entire world, leaving it a glowing radioactive wasteland.

There are still pockets of humanity in underground think tanks. One of these builds a time machine. Since the Earth is dead, and there will BE no future, what would you change in the past? (Note, the think tank has temporal shields-it won't be wiped out no matter what you do).

Think about it. A chance to reform the entire world. Stop the crusades? Spanish Inquisition? Stop slavery immediately after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, making America a true Brave New World. Stop the US from displacing the Native Americans? Stop the Holocaust?

What would any of the above change about the dead Earth as you implement them?

A lot of that stuff wasn't even written by Paul. I'll admit there are actually some books of the Bible I actively try to avoid (except for using them to debate fundies). I don't have my list of Pauline/non-Pauline books with me, but I know a good bit of the misogyny is not from Paul, but from later authors who took Paul's preference for chastity to an extreme.

I doubt it. I assume you are referring to such things as the Crusades. Those atrocities were almost always politically motivated, and Christianity was merely a convient excuse. They would happen anyway, in one form or another, with another thin veil over them.
Most wars are population related. I've heard papers on the Crusades being related to population pressure on both sides of the war, and that the Holy Land merely provided an excuse. I don't know how good the research was, though, since I'm not a history major.

The europeans wanted a convenient excuse for war on the Turks, and they got it with the Crusades. The only other way they could have done so was to say that they were helping the byzantines and NO ONE wanted to do that.
Didn't help though, the Turks eventually set a MONDO cannon on the walls of the great city and destroyed the large Chain that controlled access to the Black Sea.

If you hate the human race so much, why do yourself a favor. Buy a gun and some bullets, load the gun, put it to you forehead, and pull thr trigger and blow the small brains that you do have out.

I would like to go back to when i was 10, Grab my youngerself and slap some sence in to the wee gobshite. I have made some terriable mistakes in my life and caused my parents a lot of heartache they didn't deserve. I'd mainly teach myself that while smart assed comments may get a laugh, smart assed comments or retaliation comments directed at bastards taller and stronger and meaner than myself result in broken bones.
