Nestlé have been essentially telling mothers in Africa that their products are preferable to breast milk when it's quite clear they're not (for the reasons Cairber posted). Eventually they did admit this and started to deal with it, but they did this by writing on the packaging that breast milk is better in english in an area dominated by multiple noneuropean languages. It's not like africa's known for strong english literacy anyway.

Yeah, Nestle constantly breaks advertising laws, the WHO code and tons of other regulations on the marketing of breastmilk substitutes; these actions, according to the WHO, cause the deaths of hundred of thousands of infants throughout the world (of course most are in developing nations).

I realize in my original post I made a typo. I meant to say that Nestle is one of the most boycotted companies (not countries) in the world.
