A nitpick: "The Chalice and The Blade" doesn't advocate matriarchy, it advocates egalitarianism. At least that's the author's intention.

Also I was quoting Brownmiller & Isler's highlighting of a translation. Scipture is notoriously vague. But it's the second half is kinda scary.
