Does anyone remember that one person that supported a flat earth, and used Biblical quotes to prove it, and then, lied about everything? I tihnk he's now, thank God.

A flat earth can't explain gravity, the horizon, every photograph taken from space, how you can get from point A to point B, or how nobody has fallen off an "edge".

Their primary answers:

1: "LIES, ALL LIES!!!"
2: "ITS A CONSPIRACY!!!"

He said that Columbus was a falt-Earther, when the point of his voyages was that he thought that if the Earth was round, he could sail a ship across the ocean to Asia. And i'm pretty sure the rest of his crew thought the Earth was round too. What amazed them was how big the Earth was.

Then, that guy said that Washington was a flat-earther, and he left England for that. I've been to Mount Vernon, and one of the itms in his study was an antique globe, and besdides, this was centuries after Columbus proved the earth was round. And, he also thought you would reach heaven if you travelled far enough away from the planet.

Columbus evidently estimated that the distance that needed to be traveled to reach Asia was less then 1/13th of how far he ended up going, and that was just to get to the Americas! Its pretty amazing he and his men didn't starve to death.

You'll see stranger things. I'm pretty sure there are people who still think rain comes form holes in heaven, and you could destroy the earth by collapsingthe pillars it stands on. But, they're probably arguing weather he pllars are Romanesque or Greek.
