Yes and No...
I have to completely agree that the Xtian god is the epitome of selfishness. But in order to appease a selfish god you must have a flock of selfless (altruistic) sheep.

So while their god is not altruistic, they instruct their followers to be so. Though I doubt any Xtian you speak with would actually admit that their god is selfish, though they would not be able to provide evidence to the contrary.
