Yes but how many people who committ/try to commit suicide plan that long. The studies we've both posted don't say.
Yeah, I know. I can't believe no one has thought to ask that question. It is entirely possible that a long debate with myself places me distinctly outside the norm. However, spontaneously deciding to commit suicide in a few minutes of irritation is probably outside the norm as well.
If I were you, I'd prepare for both possibilities.

Are you trying to say that debating with you will make me want to commit suicide? Dude

No, you said you were in suicide prevention and stuff and that you are trained to talk people down. I meant when doing that. Sorry, it came out wrong.
Oh that.........ok I understand now. Fortuanatly I've never had to do it. Most tof the course focused on impulsive suicidal people. But I'll keep the planners in mind if I ever have to employ the knowledge. Most of it is just trying to reconnect them with reality IE: getting them to realise what they have to live for, family, friends, even a treasured family pet can be enough to get the person to back down.
