There are volumizing and synthetic plasma and oxygenating products (fluosol, etc) that aren't made using actual blood fractions. But they aren't universally effective, for everything.

Which are some of the things I am referring to.

I've always been sort of odd on the whole "blood" bit. If something is THAT specific, than the whole lot should be just to be consistent. I've always thought that adhering to a religion would be hard but having clear cut lines as "don't do A to get to Q" kinda irked me.

I am the hammer, I am the right hand of my Lord. The instrument of His will and the gauntlet about His fist. The tip of His spear, the edge of His sword. I am His wrath just as he is my shield. I am the bane of His foes and the woe of the treacherous. I am the end.

In fact there is a video that describes in detail some of the alternatives to blood transfusions that witness' have available to them. Though I would most likely do more research on my own, from what I have gathered they are essentially just as effective if not more so depending on some cases to blood.
If they are just as effective as blood transfusions, why do we even need blood donations ?

Or are these alternatives only useful in specific situations ?
They aren't as effective or as producable, otherwise the BBTS would've done away with human blood transfusion altogether years ago.
