Is Playboy porn?

I've never thought that Playboy was porn, as it makes the chicks into objects.

At least with something like Hustler or Penthouse there is the theory that the women are enjoying themselves...

As far as I'm concerned, Playboy is the photgraphic equilivant of Max Hardcore movies.

I was wondering if someone was going to mention the "articles" of course I only get playboy to read the "articles"

For many years I disliked Playboy because all the girls looked exactly the same. Blond hair, big tits... zero variety. They still tend to default to that position but lately they have been showing a lot more ethnic women and brunettes.

I am exaggerating but Playboy supposedly recognizes ordinary (ie, not yet famous) women... but look at the proportion of the population which is blond/blue/big/ no tan lines that truly exist out there...

It's better now, but it's still pretty one-sided.

As understood in our society, pornography is anything that is designed to cause sexual arousal and/or appeal to an erotic rather than aesthetic interest.

That is a hopelessly subjective standard which relies upon personal reaction and psychic interpretation of creator's intent. In essence, it is crafted and used in order to PREVENT an objective standard from being used, so people can employ double-standards at will.

PS. Miniskirts are designed to cause sexual arousal, and often succeed brilliantly in that endeavour. Does this make them porno?

Well, I mean who was the person who invented a mini-skirt and in the manual on it wrote that it was designed to cause sexual arousal? I think a female will rarely admit that's her purpose when she wears one, or something else, like a half-shirt.
