Okay, remember the idea about how cousins shouldn't marry?
Well making us all genetically identical (as in, no diversity) will escalate that to a species wide level, wouldn't it?
And I thought we were all of the same race: Human, as in Homo Sapiens
What creed everyone is is another matter altogether, but why should we necessarily change it into one? There being different creeds is not an issue. The issue is that there are some motherfuckers that can't get this through their thick skull.
Eliminate all diversity through genetic manipulation?

THe OP did say that through genetics, one would alter people so that they all had similar phenotypes. This would undeniably reduce genetic diversity. This isn't just some plastic surgery appearance change. People really aren't going to be that different.
"If one needed proof that a guitar was more than wood and string, that a song was more than notes and words, and that a man could be more than a name and a few faded pictures, then Robert Johnson’s recordings were all one could ask for."

Inbreeding is only a problem because it increases the odds that recessive, harmful genes will be expressed. The reduced genetic diversity when it comes to appearance and intelligence should not pose any harm that way.wilfulton wrote:Okay, remember the idea about how cousins shouldn't marry?

It would reduce it, but I don't think that it would do so in such a significant way as we would believe.wolveraptor wrote:THe OP did say that through genetics, one would alter people so that they all had similar phenotypes.
