Favorite Representation of God

Post by Majin Gojira »

What is your favorite representation of God. I have 3

Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy: Where God dissapears in a Puff of Logic

Dogma: Alanis Morriset as God. Who would have guessed!

Johnny-the Homicidal Maniac:
Nny: Oh my God! It's GOD!

God's Chair: SHH! Can't you see He's sleeping

Nny: I'll Just be a Second. Hey, God!! could I ask you a few questions

God: Hmmm? whuh...ugh...mmmwhat? What do you want?

Nny: Well, maybe you could tell me what's going on--with me, I mean. When did things start going so bad? I've been talking to dead rabbits and feeding bloody walls. I've done Horrifying things with Salad Tongs. It's really eating into my social life.

God: Could you, maybe, come back some other time? I'm Tired

Nny: Please, just some simple answers?

God: Naaaah, I don't wanna.

Nny: WHAT THE HELL'S YOUR PROBLEM, GOD??

God: I created the universe, and now I just need a little down time.

Nny: That was BILLIONS of YEARS AGO!!! Don't you think you should get up and pay attention to what's happening in the WORLD?

God: Ooooh, Sorrrreeee I only created the UNIVERSE!!! You're right, I should be out running LAPS.

Nny: DO you have ANY Idea whats going on down there?!!! Hideous things! People are suffering and people like...well...ME are running around!!! Suicide, Genocide!! People are killing MOOSE!!! You buy a video game system and a better one comes out in a MONTH POWDERED EGGS?!!! Self esteem is so low, Girls are buying WONDER BRAWS!!! Do you see!? DO YOU?

God: Zzzz

God's Chair: SHHH!
What are your favorite interpretations of God?
ISARMA: Daikaiju Coordinator: Just Add Radiation
Justice League- Molly Hayes: Respect Hats or Freakin' Else!
Browncoat
Supernatural Taisen - "[This Story] is essentially "Wouldn't it be awesome if this happened?" Followed by explosions."

Reviewing movies is a lot like Paleontology: The Evidence is there...but no one seems to agree upon it.

"God! Are you so bored that you enjoy seeing us humans suffer?! Why can't you let this poor man live happily with his son! What kind of God are you, crushing us like ants?!" - Kyoami, Ran

That's a fairly common one. It's also used in Palladium Books' RPGs and indirectly in Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality.

ah, yes, i´m sure it is, because that´s basicly how it works in real life, only that in real life the gods are powerful with a lot of believers even though they (the gods, not the believers) dont even exist.

My interpretation: Since I'm a deist (to a degree), I think God created life in the Universe, with both great strengths and great weaknesess. He doesn't interfere, he just observes and sees if we can come close to peacefulness as possible. It seems rational enough.

I don't believe in god, but I like the way he's represented in Devine Problems, which is a humorous little story I came across a while ago.

I actually really like Medieval religious art. The figures look like they're two steps beyond South Park cardboard cutouts, but there's a power to the work as a whole.

I liked the rather amusing take in "Memnoch the Devil" by Anne Rice....in it basically God and Satan are both a pair of loonies.....

Funny, I was just thinking about how God, Angels, and Demons were depicted in one of my RTS video game designs (titled Fourteen Sages for now), and then I read this description that's almost exactly like it.

Basically, God is what the Angelic beings lump all of the universe and it's physical laws into, so that merely by definition God is all-encompassing and created everything, as He is what they call 'everything'. So basically everything is in the hands of Angels and Demons in terms of what god-like decisions are made. Demons of course are simply immortal or formerly mortal beings that serve under Satan and the other original six Angelic Beings, who first split off from Heaven and founded their own plane of existence.

Also, both Angels and Demons have little interest in Humans or the Earth, as most of their issues are dealt with outside of our physical plane (only 7 Archangels have even been on Earth, and none of the higher 3 Angelic tiers have done so). They're both actually neutral in alignment (Demons only appear physically 'evil' because they have little interest in pursuading any more lifeforms to their side, and actually consider Angels to be manipulative for appearing to Humans as beautiful winged beings, as they feel that that Angels trying to convince us that they only have benevolence and our best interests on their minds). Earth's just another thing to fight over, mostly dealt with by the 'lower management' of Angels and Archangels; Angels feel it's theirs by default, and Demons are looking for more places to control and take away from Heaven's 'monopoly'. There's alot more to the story, but that covers the basics of who's who.

Sure, it's just for an unproduced videogame, but considering that the Bible is 'just a book', I ought to argue my game's depictions as having the same weight of validity.
