Some science questions
If I was in an air craft ejected and then some one fired a 100Kt kinetic impact weapon at the air craft, while I was still within a few hundred meters how dead would I be?
exactly how many M/S of accelration is one G of accelration?
exactly how many M/S of accelration is one G of accelration?

?
um.....semi-dead?
If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.

very dead.FBHthelizardmage wrote:If I was in an air craft ejected and then some one fired a 100Kt kinetic impact weapon at the air craft, while I was still within a few hundred meters how dead would I be?
on Earth, 9.81 m/s^2.exactly how many M/S of accelration is one G of accelration?
on Mars, aproximately a third of that value.
On Jupiter, you'll suffer an acceleration of about 100 m/s^2
Conclusion: don't visit Jupiter.

I think you're confusing local gravity with the G constant. Because G is a constant, right?

Re: Some science questions
G is the universal gravitional constant, equal to 6,67259E-11. Newton/m^2 kg^2. It's not what we call g, which is the gravitic acceleration suffered by a body on Earth's surface, equal to 9.8 m/s^2.Slartibartfast wrote: I think you're confusing local gravity with the G constant. He asked how much was g (at least, that's what makes sense, G is not an acceleration).
After answering, I generalized for the other planets.
BTW, g = G*m/r^2, where m is the planet mass and r the radius.
Re: Some science questions
Not necessarily very dead. 100 KT of energy is far more than would be needed to destroy the plane, most of it would just keep right on going. If you're ejection seat got out out of the projectile's path, you might well survive.FBHthelizardmage wrote:If I was in an air craft ejected and then some one fired a 100Kt kinetic impact weapon at the air craft, while I was still within a few hundred meters how dead would I be?
One G is about 9.8 meters per second per second (9.8 m/s^2).exactly how many M/S of accelration is one G of accelration?

Upon reading Valdemar's post, I suppose that if the projectile that hit the plane is supersonic, the shockwave probably would kill you.
