[Creationism] Shred this for me

Wow, what a sad topic. You claim that these Creationist Scientists are ignorant and stupid, and then go and prove scientifically that you are just as stupid and ignorant. Did you every consider that your faith in science and evolution is just as strong and bone-headed as some creationists?

Creationist scientists is not an oxymoron. You can believe in Creation and still be a scientist. My only trouble is when evolution is entered into the mix, because the two conflict.

Secondly, I believe in the six day Creation.

Thirdly, evolution has about as much scientific proof as creation. I have yet to see any proof for evolution that can be backed by the scientific method of reproduction and observation. Sure we've reproduced small changed like flies becoming immune to DDT, but that in no way proves that flies could grow another set of legs and stand upright.

My beleif in creation requires faith, and so does your belief in evolution. Stop dilluding yourselves into believing a theory as law, and recognize that it's just as flawed and that you don't know anything as fact, because every day another discovery is made, and another change is made to the theory.

That is all I'm gonna say, 'cause we've been through this topic how many times? That, and I'm late for class.

What is there to refute? He presents not one shred of reasoning, not one iota of evidence. All he says is basically "I'm right, you're wrong, nyaa nyaa nyaa".

The only half-assed point he makes in his little diatribe (which is 99% composed of rhetoric) is his claim that small structural changes do not lead to large structural changes, by giving an absurd example of a fly making a huge evolutionary leap.

I have never, repeat NEVER run into a creationist who did not employ strawman distortions of evolution sooner or later, and this ass-clown is no exception.

This is pretty much a standard argument from a fundie, note the lack of obvious thought put into it which would give a 3 year old no problem in dissecting using rudimentary reasoning.

If he's a 6 day'er, it's pretty sure he's a Global flood believer. You could always point out the ridiculousness of that whole scenario.
You claim that these Creationist Scientists are ignorant and stupid

Actually we have observed insects and other animals with extra sets of legs and other body parts. They were highly detrimental but they do exist. Look up "HOX genes"

What they don't realize is that every new discovery we make only takes us farther and farther away from creationism.

And that was done so how?
Did you every consider that your faith in science and evolution is just as strong and bone-headed as some creationists?
There is no faith in science and evolution you fucknut. That's a stupid question.
Creationist scientists is not an oxymoron.
Well, they're also morons.
You can believe in Creation and still be a scientist.
And that would make you a really lousy scientist.
My only trouble is when evolution is entered into the mix, because the two conflict.
No shit. It's because Creationism is wrong, bitch.
Secondly, I believe in the six day Creation.
Which makes you an even bigger idiot.
Thirdly, evolution has about as much scientific proof as creation.
No, it has a hell of a lot more. Mainly because creation has no scientific proof dumbass.
I have yet to see any proof for evolution that can be backed by the scientific method of reproduction and observation.
And with your head up your ass it's no wonder. Maybe you should remove it and actually do some fucking research.
Sure we've reproduced small changed like flies becoming immune to DDT, but that in no way proves that flies could grow another set of legs and stand upright.

Which aren't necessary for evolution. Evolutionary changes are beneficial. Another set of legs and the ability to stand upright don't have to be. Immunity to DDT on the other hand, is. Dumbass.
My beleif in creation requires faith, and so does your belief in evolution.
No, creation requires faith. Evolution requires somehow to actually observe the world. That means your head can't be up your ass. It's no wonder why you can't do that.
Stop dilluding yourselves into believing a theory as law, and recognize that it's just as flawed and that you don't know anything as fact, because every day another discovery is made, and another change is made to the theory.
Nice misrepresentation of science, idiot. A scientific theory is the equivalent of a scientific law.

The observations that show the process of evolution is reality and thus is fact. Something that you seem to not get, moron. And every new discovery shows how evolution is true and how Creationism is false. It also shows why you are such a fucking moron too.
That is all I'm gonna say, 'cause we've been through this topic how many times?
It probably wouldn't be so many if you opened your eyes instead of letting some book do your thinking for you.

It's incredible how these... things, keep mixing the layman's definition of theory with the scientific definition of theory. If they don't know what they are talking about, why do they even bring it up?
(Oh, yeah, because they're idiots, right...)

Being a bit pedantic, here, but HOM genes would be what you're looking for. HOX are vertebrates, IIRC.

Now you know. The missionaries came and explained it to the "savages".

Missionary: "Dear God, what are you doing?"

Annoyed couple: "Doggy style"

They're actually quite prolific. Many christian religions strongly encourage their followers to "Multiply and Replenish the Earth" so that the church can have more followers.

It ended up with me and about 15 other people jumping on him, him not responding, and the conversation turning towards a discussion of pudding and boobs.

How did he prove that he was stupid and ignorant about science? Furthermore, you've fallen for the "atheism/evolution/science requires faith" fallacy. We get conclusions by rationally following the evidence in science, unlike religion, where you have to blindly accept your God, in spite of having no evidence to support His existance.
ArcSyn wrote: Creationist scientists is not an oxymoron. You can believe in Creation and still be a scientist. My only trouble is when evolution is entered into the mix, because the two conflict.

Well, I would say that one should be disturbed when one attempts to rationalize the creation myth. And I totally agree with you. Creation and evolution conflict. Creation is the irrational belief in a big imaginary guy in the sky creating the Earth at His whim, whereas evolution is a scientific theory that has been repeatedly validated by actual evidence
ArcSyn wrote: Secondly, I believe in the six day Creation.
Good for you. Do you also believe that I have an invisible pink unicorn living in my basement? Explain why there are two different accounts of Creation. Explain why things don't occur in a sane order, such as animals coming before plants?
ArcSyn wrote: Thirdly, evolution has about as much scientific proof as creation.
Wrong. What is your proof for Creation?
ArcSyn wrote: I have yet to see any proof for evolution that can be backed by the scientific method of reproduction and observation.
And I have yet to see how you can scientifically prove a myth.
ArcSyn wrote: Sure we've reproduced small changed like flies becoming immune to DDT, but that in no way proves that flies could grow another set of legs and stand upright.
Nice misrepresentation of the facts there, slick. Evolution encompasses a set of small, almost random changes over long periods of time. Take the fossil record, for example. We clearly have a line of hominids that tend to have increasing brain sizes and develop more complex tools. Never mind that this takes place over the course of millions of years.
ArcSyn wrote: My beleif in creation requires faith, and so does your belief in evolution.
Wrong. Evidence of evolution can be demonstrated by reviewing the fossil record. It can also be demonstrated by watching micro-evolution, such as insects developing pesticide resistance. On the other hand, your creation myth has no evidence supporting it.
ArcSyn wrote: Stop dilluding yourselves into believing a theory as law,
And stop deluding yourself into believing that the musings of some swarthy middle-easterners describes the universe.

ArcSyn wrote: and recognize that it's just as flawed and that you don't know anything as fact, because every day another discovery is made, and another change is made to the theory.
And that's the beauty of science. If new discoveries are made, then theories are revised and made more accurate. Unlike fundamentalist dogma, which never changes, in spite of being proven wrong, repeatedly.
ArcSyn wrote: That is all I'm gonna say, 'cause we've been through this topic how many times? That, and I'm late for class.

These guys never admit their proof is a book and nothing else.

They also dont seem to get that a scientist will change his/her view if new experiments or research refute a currently held idea. Creationists beliefs dont change at all.

Not so. Look at the Gothmog and Darkstar debates on Mike's hatemail page. They easily put this idiot to shame in terms of typing lots of words that say absolutely zilch.
