Good. Now that that's out of the way, I have to wonder on where sapient aliens go when they die, since they've never heard of Jesus. Is the Ninth Circle of Hell full of aliens and unbaptized infants, or do the aliens at least get to go to purgatory? And, if they turn out to be biologically unable to consume human flesh, how will they accept the communion?

Maybe there's a separate, alien, purgatory... Purgatroyd?

I do have to say that as much as I dislike the Catholic Church as much as any other church, I have to grudgingly admit that they are the most broadminded in the overall sense of the word. They have a little more sense and at least eventually acknowledge many science facts like evolution. Other churches annoy the fuck out of me with their "Na Na I'm not listening" type of behavior when faced with scriptural challenges

Perhaps the aliens don't have a sinful nature and so get to goto heaven by default.

Or maybe each planet is a separate high school science project for the kids at Deity High. The creators of the species with FTL and telepathy got As, and whoever created the dumb asses that are always fighting amongst themselves and destroying their own planet in the name of profit got a D.

Or perhaps someone at the Vatican realized that the existence of God has about as much evidence going for it (or less) than the existence of aliens, and they got the pope to make the statement.

My theory is that the Pope has finally met Zixinusablaborg the Ninth, High Patriarch of Veluvia IX, and he threataned nuclear annihilation unless the Church admitted belief in aliens was not heretical.

Ermm... pretty obvious considering there are catholic Gelgameks (you know, where the females have three feet vaginas wide and filled with razor-sharp teeth?). Hell, if I'm not mistaken, even the current pope was a giant space spider.

Still, good for catholic Church. From what I've heard, the american evangelical fundies see aliens as demons
