Re: Loving People
Yet another take on how to convert others, I presume. For those of us who do not care to listen to the ramblings of a lunatic, do take care to categorize it: Does this variant involve brainwashing, bribery, stigmatizing, violence, or deception?

It involves respecting even what we consider dangerous cults because of their search for genuine spiritual enlightenment despite attempting to convert them to the Dark Side.

Ma'm, we are imperials here. We don't follow the dusty ways of your antiquated order. We believe in peace through overwhelming firepower.

Ah yes. The "Conversion through obvious choice" theory. Whereby if you leave it alone long enough it will gravitate towards your way of thinking simply because you have concluded that you're right.SisterMiriamGodwinson wrote:It involves respecting even what we consider dangerous cults because of their search for genuine spiritual enlightenment despite attempting to convert them to the Dark Side.

Its actually more along the lines of seeing a good example to live by. And if you think no positive Christians exist, that is bigotry.

Most Christians wouldn't know what real bigotry was if it came up and bit them in the ass.SisterMiriamGodwinson wrote:Its actually more along the lines of seeing a good example to live by. And if you think no positive Christians exist, that is bigotry.

Sure, after all, it's tendered so much in the way of reliable, productive results, and all of it's failures are just the work of some uncooperative bad apples. It would work if those people didn't go awry of it. Just like the free market or communism.SisterMiriamGodwinson wrote:Its actually more along the lines of seeing a good example to live by.
I think they don't exist in adequate numbers to outweigh the danger their cult poses. And if you think no positive Christians exist, that is bigotry.

Even if you're right... Most isn't all. Galileo is bragged about all the time for being a non-believer when all he was who was a Christian who wasn't a slave of his Church.

Remind me again where anyone said anything about "all" Christians besides you?SisterMiriamGodwinson wrote:Even if you're right... Most isn't all. Galileo is bragged about all the time for being a non-believer when all he was who was a Christian who wasn't a slave of his Church.

Whatever a non-sequiter is, I'm quoting this for, showing you that I answered you legitimately, whether you liked it or not. Most Christians wouldn't know what real bigotry was if it came up and bit them in the ass.

Re: Loving People
Don't be obtuse. I said "most" are ignorant of something. Countering with "Yeah, but not ALL are" doesn't actually rebut anything. If anything it's AGREEING with what I just said, and does not follow at all. If you were attempting to somehow show I was wrong you weren't doing a very good job of it.SisterMiriamGodwinson wrote:Whatever a non-sequiter is, I'm quoting this for, showing you that I answered you legitimately, whether you liked it or not. Most Christians wouldn't know what real bigotry was if it came up and bit them in the ass.

Re: Loving People
Who remembers that "Christians and atheists must agree" article? "Love" and "cooperation" are nice ideas, but for fuck's sake, they're not strategies with established mechanisms for enactment.

Actually, you aren't one for subtlety much. I said Galileo was a Christian who denied his own Church for the truth. When you obey God, you disobey Man. Christians are not very numerous. Church members are, Christians are more likely a very small minority.Don't be obtuse. I said "most" are ignorant of something. Countering with "Yeah, but not ALL are" doesn't actually rebut anything. LOL, I'll save this for later. This is great material for when thinks they've seen the nadir of religious retards and someone shows the barrel is that much lower.

Actually, there is no True Scottsman fallacy.
The criteria for a Christian is laid down in the Bible. It does not say that Christians are Church members. It says Christians are obedient servants of God.

Re: Loving People
Bullshit. The only "criteria" for being a Christian is belief in Jesus. Anything else is purely subjective nonsense.SisterMiriamGodwinson wrote:Actually, there is no True Scottsman fallacy.

In other words, anyone who believes Jesus existed is a CHristian? That fits your criteria.
