Sorry for the necro (from here) but I have a question about this failure.
Russians reported that the failure was in the third stage of the missile however the test took place in White Sea and the target was presumably somewhere in Kamchatka. This would mean the missile went radically of course, something like 90-180 degrees, as soon as it was launched for it to be visible from Norway.
When exactly does the third stage kick in? This looks more like first or second stage faliure; I thought third stage engines engage much closer to target.

But if the forces of evil should rise again, to cast a shadow on the heart of the city.

Re: Giant Spiral over Norway
Split necro; it's not really on-topic either.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.
