Do you think that perhaps you could back that up with a legitimate news agency, like maybe the BBC itself?
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

Maybe we should use them as human shields, but the electronic emissions make for a good target lock
Sudden power is apt to be insolent, sudden liberty saucy; that behaves best which has grown gradually.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

It's from an Irish radio station, RTÉ Radio One http://www.radio1.ie/weekend/sundayshow/, would you rather have listened to the entire show? Click 'hear the show' :P

edit: removed an unnecessary url end thingy

Feeding the name of the author who wrote that article ("Fintan Dunne") to Google turns up more obvious bullshit--UFO conspiracies, 'alternative' views on AIDS--than a GOP convention. Given US targetting habits this story is very likely to be true but the immediate author appears to be a whackjob.

Edit: The interview is approximately 52:05 minutes into the RAM stream available (at present--it'll be gone by Sunday) at http://www.rte.ie/rams/radio/sundayshow.ram

I have downloaded the stream from RTE's FTP site if anyone wants it once it disappears from the web.

So much for the story being bullshit.

Kate Adie, however, is a very respected news reporter.

You go into a war zone you might not come back. Do these dumbasses not understand that. We know the pentagon kill reporters when they need to, they 'accidentally' dropped one on Al Jazzira in Afganistan, and 'accidentally' blew up the serbian state television HQ.

Does this surprise anyone? These people don't have to go!

The Serbian hit was deliberate, and under the circumstances, quite likely justified.

Deliberately hunting down and killing people who are making reports for an external audience from the opposing side of the warzone is something else entirely.

Mods: isn't this more along the lines of an OT thread? Sooner or later, it's going to go flamewar....

this is a load of bullshit. It goes from the US threatening to kill reporters, to it actually targeting uplinks to it merely stating that areas which reporters are in may be bombed. Nothing in it supports the US making a deliberate effort to kill reporters or stating that it will do so, except the scaremongering title.

You go into a warzone, you run a risk of death. Is that not painfully obvious?

Listen to the interview. The US intends to attack any uplinks detected by its ESM assets.

It is painfully obvious that any non-combatant who enters a warzone may be killed accidentally. This is fundamentally different from being specifically targetted.
