If every creationist died, would you feel bad (serious)
Let's say for some reason that tommorrow morning, at the stroke of dawn, every creationist in the world just shriveled up and died.
Would you feel bad?
Would you feel good that such idiocy isn't going to get spread around anymore?
How would you feel? How do you think you should feel?

I'd celebrate the partial purging of idiocy from the human gene pool. If every creationist died, I just might convert, since that's proof that there is a benevolent, all-powerful being watching over us.

It's not my place in life to make people happy. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to watch me slaughter cows you hold sacred. Don't talk to me unless you're prepared to have your basic assumptions challenged. If you want bunnies in light, talk to someone else.
depending on their level of idiocy, if they are all hardcore creationists I certainly won't be losing any sleep.

I'd feel bad. I have someone I'm pretty friendly with who's a YEC.
(For the record, she's still relatively young, and her parents are hardcore flat-earth moon-hoax raving lunatics. Frankly, she's done well to have ONLY become a creationist having been raised by them. I'm hoping getting out on her own, and away from her insane family, will push her back toward reality.)

If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! Personally, I see no pleasure in the loss of human life, even if that life belonged to an idiot.
I would feel bad.
I'll sacrifice monkeys, dogs, cats and any other stupid animal over and over to see medicine increase and humanity be protected. So while I may not agree with the creationist manifesto, I would not feel joy at the deaths of hundreds or thousands of human beings.

LOL, you are being silly.
I agree that many people are annoying, dumb and shouldn't be allowed to breed. But even with that said, I do not take any pleasure or joy in watching a person die. If I were smart enough, I'd be at work today, trying to cure cancer, lengthen life and make all of us safer.
I suppose I believe that humans are capable of almost anything. One day we'll inhabit all parts of our solar system and hopefully systems beyond.
The only thing that can stop us is us. I really do hope that the morons in charge don't blow us up or pollute the Earth or create some fucking bio weapon and kill us all.

Indeed Bio-Weapon being the most likely, For example an old friend of mine wanted to become a Bio-Chemist(He's rolling in scollership money as we speak trying to decided collages) had an idea of his to run a double step virus one which intagrates itself in your body replicating but giving you nothing worse than a bad cold then going dormant and from what I understand adapting itself to you(He would not be clear on the details as it was his brillant idea but the basic idea was a two step killer one which is designed to go dormat the other whos only purpose is severed but to activate and reforce the first virus and kill the subject, the idea being you could *tag an indivudal without him knowing it and be able to kill him at will with the second virus while not harming anyone else at all)The only thing that can stop us is us. I really do hope that the morons in charge don't blow us up or pollute the Earth or create some fucking bio weapon and kill us all

We see we went to the same Evil School so we both along with some other former students planed on taking over the World, Myself through Psycholical manipluation, Him through Bio-Warfare and basicly Yuri esk tatics, Another is a currently is working his way up the US Military Ranks and he favors a Direct Military takever
Of course my Bio-warfair friend was voted most likley to succeded(I wonder if those fools had any idea what he was going to succed At?)
Still if you see the Goverment taken over in twenty years by a Cabal of sorts and I suddenly stop posting don't be suprised

Pat Robertson told them that the second coming was the next day, so they ought to pray for forgiveness and then commit suicide before they could sin again. That way they wouldn't have to put up with the "Anti-Christ."Asst. Asst. Lt. Cmdr. Smi wrote:How would they all die?
In all seriousiness, if that happened, we're talking about a huge chunk of the U.S. population. There could be some serious damage done from this.
By the way, does this senerio include kids who are too young to think rationally?

Wouldn't that sort of cause huge economic problems in the U.S. resulting in huge economic problems in the world? And the way the economy is now.....

Acutal no if you think about it, its a huge Cash fall as Fundies tend to breed with Fundies and introdnate thier kids the same meaning there will be quite a few dead people without any living airs meaning it goes to the goverment or whoever could loot thier house the quickestWouldn't that sort of cause huge economic problems in the U.S. resulting in huge economic problems in the world? I was thinking about the theory of moral development because of another thread in this section. It's been a while since psych class so I only remember the gist of it: basically, the vast majority of the population is at the second level: "right" and "wrong" are what the law (or the bible, or the koran...) say they are. As many problems as I may have with the institution of the church, it nonetheless provides the only moral framework that a significant portion of the population knows. Knock that down, and you have to have something to replace it with. If those of us with an ax to grind against the Bible managed to totally discredit it tonight, what you'd see is a large group of people reverting to the lowest level on the scale: "if it feels good for me, it's right." I don't think any of us here would want to see that. Incidently, that's a trend that frightens me about the US these days... it seems like there's a LOT of people stuck at that first stage these days.
Bottom line, if the church died out tomorrow there'd be a new institution to replace it, and you'd all hate it just as much. It's the way people are.

i'd probably be quite indifferent, kinda like "oh well, there goes that". Now if they could become good, normal non-creationist people then I'd be happy.

If the government seized all of the land and money and such, then....wait how many people are we talking about here? A few million? A hundred million? What? And are these just Christian creationists or people that believe the universe was created by something else other than God or the big bang theory? Or people that believe God caused the big bang and nothing more? Or people that believe something else caused the big bang and nothing more? If we're talking about all of those people who believe the universe was created by something other than just the big bang, then we are talking about hundreds of millions of people around the world. Maybe more than that.

And I think it would be the biggest loss of human life ever to occur in history.

I withdraw questions in the first post, as I checked to see the exact definition of a creationist, and here it is:
Belief in the literal interpretation of the account of the creation of the universe and of all living things related in the Bible.
So that limits it to people who believe completely that science had nothing to do with it.

Woo hoo I get to live because I don't believe in strict interpretations of anything, let alone religion!IRG CommandoJoe wrote:I withdraw questions in the first post, as I checked to see the exact definition of a creationist, and here it is:

If they all died I would shrug and go back to work. After I got off though i would go looting in their neighborhoods.
