US Company makes 'weather control powder'

Post by h0rus »

Caught this link on FARK.com.

From a thread. The one related to 'weather control'.

Anyone know if the US govt came to make use of this eventually?

Good for them. Not living in an area where storms wreck entire towns I happen to rather like rain, but whatever's useful for them I suppose. IF it does indeed work.

I'd bet it does work. The problume is dropping enough of it to have any effect on somthing the size of a hurricane. Still even if it took ten thousand tons it would be a bit more sane then the nuclear bombardment option.

This could have some interesting military applications. "You'll now be suffering a drought until you surrender," is a pretty heavy threat.
I had a Bill Maher quote here. But fuck him for his white privelegy "joke".

Sounds like the old HAARP conspiracies about California having a long drought during certain radio signals from that place.

Isnt this the same stuff as the Russians were using in St Petersburgh? I know they were using something to keep the clouds away (and failed...) but I cant remember what it was.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

the soviets had weather control, the 1980 moscow olympics rained constantly right up until the first day and then started again right after the last day, they had seeded the clouds in advance of reaching moscow.

No, instead its feet and feet of something with the consistancy of jam/jelly at best and gelatin/Jello at worst after it starts to solidify a bit. Great, just what we need, something harder to drive through that will also clog up any open-air ventilation systems, sewage systems, and pools with nasty semen-looking stuff in it!

Whats that white stuff? SHIT! GODS JERKING OFF! RUN!!!!!!!

Wonderful.

I did read the article, dumbass. Apparently you didnt.
The water is then turned into a gel before falling out of the sky.

The company says the gel is completely safe, bio-degradable, and breaks down in seawater - though they refuse to say exactly what is in it.
I sorry but where does it say it isnt gel? Idiot.

They're dumping this stuff out at sea where the gel will dissolve, not over land where it might dump a goodly amount of crud on everyone.

The article also strongly implied that it was intended to retard hurricanes, whose formation occurs over water. They aren't going to seed some nightly storm forming somewhere in Florida, considering how much we need the water and how much effort that would take.

Explosion in a KY factory? Nice.

But yes, weather control could prove to be a useful military asset, if only for decreasing enemy morale.

You have a point, but I wasn't arguing the hurricane thing.

Only its not flavored. And for decreasing morale, it wont help. Making it fucking pour would help, but making it nice killing weather wouldnt.

I was thinking constant inclement weather over the duration of the compaign. Constant rain is reported to induce mild depression, so I've read.

If it's going to be deployed primarily over water, then the only people who have to worry are those on ships offshore.

Doesnt explain why I'm so happy. :) And it only goes to my point -- good weather = good morale.
