SLIPKNOT, CANNIBAL CORPSE CITED IN MURDERS

According to testimony by San Bernardino police detectives, Jason
Lamar Harris, 20, and Amber Rose Riley, 16, admitted to killing a
twenty-two-year-old man after listening to SLIPKNOT. The case is
the second in the southern California county in which a murder
suspect admitted to musical motivation. Jonathan Lee Stephenson,
18, was arrested for an April 2nd murder of a teenage girl,
allegedly citing CANNIBAL CORPSE lyrics. In May, the American
Psychological Association issued a report claiming songs with
violent lyrics are capable of increasing aggressive thoughts and
emotions.

----People are such fucking idiots it makes me sick. Well FUCKING DUH aggressive lyrics can get you riled up, THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT! But still, whatever happened to personal responsibility? Ah yes: lawsuits are more lucrative.
...This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old...ultraviolence.

That person was gonna kill no matter what music they listen to.

I bet they were playing it backwards too, and heard corey tell them to smoke weed and worship satan too?

It's just idiocy, and nothing will come from it, think of how many people listen to metal, and how many kill people...

Curious, what are your feeling about Gansta Rap talking about shooting in the street? I support freedom of speach and don't believe in banning although I would not like it if I had a child and they listened to it. As well, am curious if it might cause crime.

Gangsta rappers talk about what they've seen or what they'd like to do, or what they've heard.I kinda doubt it leads to anything, however it may aid the kid if that's what they were seriously considering for a life, and are impressionable.

BUT if they're that impressionable, more time should be spent with them trying to make them into a worthy member of society.

I wonder if the defendant blaimed it on the music as a way to reduce the sentence.

No, of course not. The music is clearly responsible.

Listening to Slipknot is a crime in itself. His punishment ought to be extended, if anything.

Yeah, right, sure it did. It's exactly like all those fuckers in the 80's accusing Ozzy Osbourne for making their kids commit suicide. Here's a hint, your damn kid is fucked up and would've shot/killed/raped/suicided no matter what, the music is just a convenient excuse. TV made him do it, it was the video games, he listened to metal, holy christ, the kid's an unstable fucking nutjob and that's the end of that.

My thoughts exactly. Did he have accomplices? All the Slipknot fans I see always hang out in groups of 2-3.

Bad case of the post hoc ergo propter hoc (I think) fallacy.

"He was listening to Slipknot before he committed the murder; therefore Slipknot caused him to commit the murder."

Or, alternatively: "He was breathing air before he committed the murder; therefore, breathing air caused him to commit the murder."

Both are equally logical, ie, not logical at all.
Don't hate; appreciate!

RIP Eddie.

Oh LOL!

Look up Kottonmouth Kings and listen to some of their songs. I guarantee that playing Slipknot backwards to hear shit about weed would be completely redundant and a moot point. ;) :D

Exactly why lawyers need a bullet to their heads (except the cutey-boy ones; Try indoctrination reprogramming)

And anyways, what if I listened to 'Corporate Avenger - Christians Murdered Indians.mp3'? Sure it'll get me royally peeved, but it won't make me mow down a buncha christians because their ancestors tortured and killed the Indians! I would really hate to see free speech revoked because of some GODDAMN GREEDY LAWYERS stealing MY tax dollars to line their own pockets.

Isn't ther a lseat a little truth in the fact that music does inspire people. Look at the songs sung befoe battle in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. How about songs like 'Hell is for Children"

Now, blaming a song for murder is a bit much.

"Pull the trigga kill a nigga" With lyrics like that, gangsta rap isnt anything special. Turn on the news, and you hear about "triggaz" being pulled and "niggaz" being killed all the time. Because of this, we should ban the news and let the federal government tell us whats up.

Inspire, yes, cause no. They were going to go to war, kill, or draw an awesome picture no matter what imo, the music just caused it to happen with more finesse maybe...who can say?

Hey, I like Slipknot! :x

God, I was at Ozzfest 2001, I have never seen such a chaotic mass of humanity swirling like a vortex to hell and throwing trash into the air like they did during Slipknot's performance.
