Robertson leads prayers for Supreme Court justices' removal

Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson is asking his nationwide audience to pray that God will remove three judges from the United States' highest court so conservatives can replace them.

``We ask for miracles in regard to the Supreme Court,'' Robertson prayed on Monday while hosting the Christian Broadcasting Network's ``The 700 Club.''
The request for divine intervention is part of ``Operation Supreme Court Freedom,'' an ongoing, 21-day ``prayer offensive'' Robertson is promoting on the show and on CBN's Web site.

Robertson and other conservative Christians oppose certain past Supreme Court decisions, such as those that legalized abortion and barred mandatory prayer in public schools.

Their outrage was inflamed again in June when the court, by a 6-3 vote, decriminalized sodomy. That ruling ``has opened the door to homosexual marriages, bigamy, legalized prostitution and even incest,'' Robertson stated in an open letter on CBN's Web site.

Robertson, who has a law degree from Yale University, said rulings such as this were never envisioned by the framers of the U.S. Constitution.

Robertson blamed the court's decisions on five unnamed justices whom he portrayed as a tyrannical, ``non-elected oligarchy.''

The same letter states, ``One justice is 83 years old, another has cancer and another has a heart condition. Would it not be possible for God to put it in the minds of these three judges that the time has come to retire?'' Robertson added in the letter, ``With their retirement and the appointment of conservative judges, a massive change in federal jurisprudence can take place.''

Judging from those descriptions, Robertson is targeting Justice John Paul Stevens, who was born in 1920, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who had colon cancer surgery in 1999. The identity of the third justice is unclear.

During his on-air prayer Monday, Robertson also characterized the court as undermining affirmations of Christianity and raising up ``heathen religions.''

Whoever replaces them has to be aproved by the House and Senate and they are more moderate (I think) than Goerge so Pat shoudl not really get his way.

The best way to dump pat robertson is for him to have anal sex with his girlfriend and get aids, that way we can laugh at his getting pissed off at the removal of anti-sodomy laws. ANd then he could be hit by a bus and die.
