I heard this morning that the guy claimed he didn't have physical relations with the girl. I found that hard to believe, but my wife sent me a link to a pic of the girl and I have seen it. I now believe him completely...

That's not the girl! Or, at least, it's a very bad picture of her. I've seen other pics in the newspaper and TV and she's a nice 12 years old, and looks like it, not like a man.

I have heard nothing "Oficial" on this but I have heard stories that Tracy Lords, the porno star, was 13 when she was in some of her porno films and no-one knew it. He could have been dumn, she could look pretty old, or he could be a pervert.

I saw it on BBC yeasterday. Interestingly the marine claims to be innocent. He says that he thought the girl was 19 years old when he met her on the internet. His brother who was interviewed also defends him saying that he would never do any indecent act with a 12 year old.

In my opinion the marine was not guilty, it was simply a case of misunderstanding about the girls age. He also did not hurt the girl so it seems that he did not have any criminal motive.

Very good question. The British are currently trying have him extradited from Germany. Once he has been questioned by the authorities the the truth will be known.

I am not willing to jump to any conclusions about this particular marine since we clearly do not know what exactly happened. The reason I do not consider him to be guilty up to this point is that he did not try to kill or do something horrible to the girl. Of course I may change my mind later once the police have his confession about what he exactly wanted do with the girl.

The key for him is that he was never convicted as far as I know thus no convictions no problem.

Errm, the USMC is hardly an elite and respected organization. Just about all you need to do to join is pass the physical and survive Basic. Psych batteries aren't really a part of the screening process to join the US armed forces, though they should be.

I have a solution

Force the guy to marry her.

This is a win-win situation here, and hear me out. As far as the age thing goes, just fly them to Iraq and do it there, I think their laws will allow it.

On the side of the guy this keeps him out of jail and will work to prevent any more instances like this, because he is obviously lonely. Perhaps the commitment and bliss of marriage will make him a more upstanding member of society as the years go by.

On the side of the girl, let's be real here, this is the only chance this...lovely...young woman is ever going to get at a decent marriage. She would be marrying a former marine, with the possibility of going through college and getting a good job somewhere. Also it keeps her off the internet market and away from the rest of the sexual predators out there, making her safe.

In my opinion, if there were ever two people that truly deserved each other in this world, these are the two. Who is with me?
