Skepticism Inc

Post by Rye »

Ok, in the style of one of my favourite books of all time...

I open a metaphysical betting shop based on Pascal's wager.

A human life is worth how much money? Apparently priceless, other peoples views differ on this of course, but the general consensus is it's worth all your money and more...

So, you are prepared to gamble with a human life in the metaphysical betting shop of gods and hells. So, surely, you are prepared to bet money on it too?

The idea is simple, you pay me money betting on god and hell for example, then come to me after death to collect your winnings if you are correct. NDEs do not count.

Any takers?

If I can return to you after my death, I'm going to get a lot more than just my winnings from you.

So what you are saying is that I should give you my money now (when I need it), so that I can have a change for more of it when I don't (ie. dead)?

Sounds like a no-win scenerio.

Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

You can get the value of a human life by looking at how much insurance companies are willing to ensure one for. If I remember correctly from economics, it's about right. If you don't want to get all emotional about it.
