Atheism is not a religion per-say but for our purposes if that offends you change it to "What do you follow"

Well, atheism could be regarded as a religious belief, given that it is a belief regarding religion, but not based on faith. However, atheism is more or less the most obvious explanation.

Everyone believes in something... it's just that some people choose that something to be nothing. All the better for them. I think it would be harder to believe that there's nothing there than to believe that there is. Do athiests actually have stiffer religious fiber than the rest of us?
Horza sat down on his haunches, hands closed round the run barrel in front of him, eyes staring out at the distant jungle. What a mess, he thought, what a fucking, obscene, stupid mess. He hadn't been thinking of what Gow had just done to herself, but he looked round at the red stain on the angled wall and the collapsed shape of Gow's suit, and thought it again.

No, atheism is just the most obvious conclusion. We can't observe anything other than this universe, so as far as we're concerned, there's nothing there until someone can objectively demonstrate that there is.

And, don't get started with the "something can be nothing" word games. Those are mutually exclusive terms, and it's fallacious to use them the way you did.

Atheists have no religious fibre at all. Atheism is not based on faith; it is based on logic. Do you consider it a "religion" not to believe in Santa Claus?

Do you consider it a religion to believe in Santa Claus (waits for Wong to make me look small). Viably, tho, we COULD base a religion entirely off of the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy, ne?

Of course. If you can gather a lot of people who believe that Santa Claus is real, that is a religion. If it's just you alone, that's a delusion. The difference between religion and delusion lies solely in the number of followers.

So we could argue that Catholicism is actually a mass hysteria, then?

Most religions are forms of mass hysteria (although some are more philosophical than theological).

Seriously, you have millions of people regularly getting on their knees to worship an invisible man in the sky who will put them in a happy place when they die. If that isn't mass hysteria, what else do you call it?

First, stand, sit, stand, sit, kneel, sit, stand, kneel, sit, kneel, stand, sit, stand, leave. I used to be Catholic. :D

Second, we apparently call it 'religion.'

I'm afraid I haven't studied up on the proper procedure :)
Second, we apparently call it 'religion.'
Theistic "religion" is just a euphemism for mass hysteria.

I consider myself a Headonist. I'm all for doing what feels right. Don't get me wrong i'm not gonna bash someone in the head coz i like seeing the red blood running down his face, i do have a consience. But for the most part if it seems like fun, and i don't hurt anyone doing it, i will do it and fuck what society thinks.

Hedonism is not a religion. It is a lifestyle. For that matter, atheism is not a religion either, but most religionists like to classify it as one.

I put deist because thats what I think I'm closest to, basiclly I really, really don't like the idea nothing happens after death, so I choose to beleive(or perhaps 'hope' would be a better word), that there is some sort of "higher being" ext. ext.

Seriously, I used to be sort of a non-practicing Buddhist (this was years and years ago), then something of a non-practicing Christian (I've only ever managed to read through Genesis once without falling asleep, nevermind the rest of the bible), then finally an agnostic.
