Forum description changed

I thought I'd clarify the forum's description, since a lot of people seem to wander in here and complain that they think discussions of religion are off-topic.

It's a bit of a minefield, but here goes: if you're trying to show that religion is irrational, or that a particular religious belief is irrational, this forum is perfectly appropriate. if you want to joke around about the best way to get rid of annoying Jehovah's Witnesses, the off-topic forum would be better.

Does that clear things up?

When you mentioned the description of this forum.... I would just, for once, like to know whatever a snake-oil salesperson is....

(I've seen them compared to the Ferengi.... and from that analogy alone, these snake-oil salesmen are probably anything but nice people!!)

I can't teach, and I mean that rather literally. I lack the patience nor the gift of inspiring interest in others. I can not teach more than two or three people at a time without these defects being readily apparent.

The reason I ask is because I have a friend who will be a math teacher.

He keeps on telling me how easy Cal 1 is

He'll be into non-linear Algebra and all that fun stuff this year.

But Cal 1 *is* easy!

Anyway, good for your friend. I can't teach, but I always appreciate the need of more Mathematicians to spread the True Gospel.
