Proving God?

Post by Elheru Aran »

Sparked by musing upon all the various beings in the DCU/Marvelverse...

Say an mighty being, of cosmic proportions and powers, like Thanos with the Infinity Gems or Galactus, showed up here on Earth, and claimed to be the biblical God, Allah, Brahma, or whatever.

How do we verify their claim? Can we? And, if they were proven to in fact be God/Allah/Brahma/deity, what would be the implications and concurrent results here upon Earth?
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

Well, first of all, it wouldn't really matter who they said they were if they had an asston of power, whoever they were, they probably consider themselves worth worshipping and people would make their own decisions based on that. Bibles and qurans would lose significance in the light of this clearly powerful badass, since whatever he is...he's the real deal.

There'd probably be insurrections against him by extremist groups that would probably fail. Then, well, it would depend on the entity's character.
