Would you create a clone of yourself, making whatevr changes you want, and brain transplant was possible (putting your brain in that of the clone's), except that you had to never see any of your family again?

In other words, you get to specialize yourself, but you can never *see* your family again. You can keep in contact, but you have to get rid of any pictures of them, never to have any in the future. You wouldn't be able to touch them ever again. Blindness on your part is *not* an option.

Erm ... that's one damn wierd question.

Did you leave out the part where your original dies? It would make more sense then.

Well, considering your brain is in the body of the clone, I would asume the body dies, wouldn't you?

Sure, I could actually be attractive. I would be more musculare, more agile. And I would still have my brilliant mind. I dislike my family anyway.

Personally.....I don't know. I'm not sure being everything I want to be would be worth never seeing my family again. I'll admit that I basically hate their guts, but in the end, they're still my family. I rarely communicate with them as it is, but I'm not sure I want to completely miss them growing up, having kids, growing older...

I have a wife and two kids. Leaving them in the lurch would be totally unacceptable, regardless of where I end up.

I think someone's been watching a bit too much Now and Again. :D

I would probably do it, if I did something incredibly good afterwards.

I've seen exactly half an episode of that show (yes the guy is fucking hot). I don't watch TV. And this is a random thought that's been following me for a couple of days now.

Hmmm, if it were possible, I would probably do it. Even though I may not be able to *see* my family again, I could still keep in contact through other means as well as prepare for years ahead of time with them.

Pros: near endless possibilites for extending longevity, physical strength, attractivness, immunity etc., losing all contact with annoying people who I don't care about, establishing entirely new identity so I don't have to remeber my past.

Cons: NONE! I'll take it! :D

I'm totally for it. IF I could start out again as a kid, but with all my knowledge as a childish adolescent. Why, I could do many evil things...

[ESB as a 4-year-old, finishes the SATs without cheating and gets 1400 points]

" Why ESB! You've scored a 1400! As a reward, here's a cookie! "
" Bite me, you hag! I want pussy. Pus-say! And not yours either. "

Which brings me to the other point - it would be much better for me if I could grow up a a rich orphan. Though I hope my parents would get some good kid in my place... Not fair to make them lose their only son and get nothing in return.

Nah, I wouldn't do it. You think just talking on the phone or writing is good enough, but it isn't. After a while, all you want is just that bit of physical contact to comfort you, and there's no one in the world like family, even if you mostly hate them. One of my two very best friends lives in Australia (she's practically family), and I haven't seen her in two and a half years, and there are some days I would give everything I own just to hug her. After a while, you just feel like they can't possibly remember you anymore because you aren't physically around to talk to, to cry with, to hug, etc.

So, there's no way I would do it, even if I could have Hypno Eyes.

But, you must understand, you *HAVE* to stay within reason. And you will always remember your past....you have your same brain, same mind, same memories. What you DON'T have is the contact.

Damnit! Now I understand why I didn't never see any clone stuff in the show. I was watching Once and Again! :x
