I just had a conversation with a friend who's having some issues with a female co-worker. The conversation went something like this:

me: what a bitch, why don't you just whack her or something?
him: what? are you kidding me or are you serious?
me: I'm quite serious, I mean if a guy did half of what you said this bitch has done, you'd kick his ass pound him right?
him: yeah, you're right, but still, I can't just hit a girl!

What I'm wondering about is this. Why is it so wrong to hit a girl, and where does this idea come from? Why is it a female can get away with things that would end up with a male getting the shit beat out of him for? And finally, is it right that we let women get away with things that men would get whacked or beat up for?

Hard for me do to all the training(Marital Arts+ Military Training +time means that I normaly view that a fight is over when my oppent is PHYISACLY incapable rather than MENTLY incapable of hurting me..)

So yes I have a no-hitting people period policy mostly because I usely breaks bones when I fight outside a prepared controled enivorment(Like Sparring)

Personally, if a girl hits me (excpet older relatives, of course), I WILL hit them back.

Since quite a while back, the females havebeen looked upon as the fairer race, so to speak. They are the ones that give childbirth, and therefore are to be protected. It's partly an instinctual thing, I think.

The average man is stronger than the average woman. That puts any fighting one sided, and unfair. That is partially why it is condemned.

There are other reasons, dictated by genetics. Women can be pregnant, are more frail, etc. We are forced to look at them as gems to be contended. Not that I object.

Thre are some women out there that know men shouldnt hit them and they take advantage of it by goading and harassing men to the point where they would strike if the person was a man. I think thats kinda bullshit but I generally agree men shouldnt hit women.

I don't see why. Personally, if someone pisses me off to the point where violence becomes the most expedient solution, I will hit them regardless of gender. After all, we see large numbers of women demading to be treated equally to men, I figure that if they want that right that they ought to accept the responsibility that comes with it, and one of those responsibilities is to take your punches when you piss someone off. Is it fair? Absolutely. Arguments that women are generally the weaker sex physically are totally irrelevant - equality has nothing to do with fairness. We do not argue that ST vs. SW as is is an unfair fight because the Federation is completely inferior to the Empire - why should women get a free ride?

On a side note, I do end up hitting women less often than men (and I should stress that both are rare events). The reason for this is that women usually are smart enough to not piss me off, leading me to believe that women are in fact the more rational sex.

I find it amusing how feminists always complain about how they are equal to men and should be treated as such, yet they raise a fuss when a man hits a woman or something like that, in self defense or the likes.

Personally, I don't hit women (if ya don't count my younger sisters, heh heh), but if some lady really pisses me off and attacks me or something, I will use physical force to protect myself/throw her out of the way/etc..

I and a few friends know how to reduce a girl to tears. Just swear a lot, beat them down, don't give them a chance to say anything in return, and if she tries to hit you, break her arm.

It probably has to do with the fact that "socially acceptable horseplay" is still seperated by gender in most cases. Because of this, most girls would probably not appreciate being slugged in the arm as a joke, whereas most boys are likely to find this acceptable. Therefore, you do not slug people in the arm who are unlikely to appreciate being slugged in the arm. This is not indoctrination, this is common sense.
