Which is worse?

Catholicism or Preotestantism?

I know that the Catholics are more worthy of bashing due to pedophilic priests, but seriously, who's to say that it DOES NOT happen in other ministries? So, that can't really be a basis for answers, as we don't know what goes on behind closed doors in Protestant ministries.

I digress.

Anyways, are Catholics worse or Protestants? I know there are a lot of Catholic fundie-like poeple out there (hell, I've lived with them most of my life), but it seems that Protestant Fundies are are more prominent and widespread....

So....which is the lesser of two evils.

And please, no bashing at all of them, because if you bash all Catholics, it means you are bashing my family, and I take that to heart. So please keep that in mind, as I am sure there are others with similar backgrounds.

Just a nitpick, but why should Catholics be blamed for the actions of priests?

I'm Catholic, and I feel just as outraged as the next guy. However, I'm not going to convert/denounce because of the actions of a select few. And I don't appreciate being bunched with the child molesters. It just shows the idiocy of those (not you) who find it easy to cram all people into one group.

That being said, both are pretty bad. Catholics are a bunch of backwater superstitious folk, and Protestants are Jesus, Inc.

Are crooked cops allowed to acquire employment in different precincts when they are caught? Do public school boards give pedophile teachers jobs in different districts when they are caught?

In addition to tolerating child-fucking priests on multiple occassions, the Catholic Church has consistently refused to adopt the completely reasonable zero-tolerance policy that any sane organization dealing with children constantly would instate, and in addition to this it has actually made accomodations to where pedophile priests can simply be moved when they are caught so they can continue to rape and abuse innocent children. The Catholic Church needs some serious reform, no doubt, but it has been nearly a year since these scandals broke and there has been no significant reform. I say fuck 'em.
