The top-left of the image, "Typ Czolgu", means "Tank Type".

Where I wrote "IV-5", the original text had "V". I'm assuming it's "IV-5".

Thanks man. I wonder if the T-80 data is actually real; or if the Soviets were purposely inflating them to screw with us...

4839 was the number of T-80 of all modifications stationed in E. Europe in 1990. Looks pretty similar to the numbers shown here (with an obvious greater number of tanks in USSR proper).

Oh wow, that's a whole lot of tanks. I think calling it a tank swarm is an understatement, they deployed a fucking armoured sea.
I'm surprised by the number of T-80s relative to the number of T-72s, I thought the first was supposed to be an advanced tank given to elite units and the latter a more common but weaker tank for mass use. Were most of the T-72s given to non-Soviet WarPac armies?

The T-72s might have been kept in reserve on Soviet territory for Red Army reservists. However, I could be confusing that with someone else's mobilization practices.
