So now we have open joining now? When the fuck did that lame shit happen?Mr Bean wrote:You remember wrong.Mr. Coffee wrote:The hilarious part of this is that if I'm remembering right, all users have to be approved by a mod. Senate replaced it with a math question. I don't know why either.Mr. Coffee wrote:So now we have open joining now? Because admin-approved registration was a pain in the ass.Mr. Coffee wrote:So now we have open joining now? More of a pain in the ass then having child porn posted on the born, retard?Beowulf wrote:Because admin-approved registration was a pain in the ass.
That's was Mike's idea. And it wouldn't really have protected the board from troll invasions. They'd have just signed up a bunch of accounts early. Dumbass.Mr. Coffee wrote:So you're telling me that the one thing that actually seriously protected the site from troll invasions like this we just got rid of because it was a "pain in the ass". Because trolls can't do math...
Who ever had that idea, fire them too.
We hadn't had a Board Invasion for a long time-- certainly not a serious one. I think the last one was Troll Kingdom, and that was kinda low key... truth is, we saw 'Bots' as more of a threat...Mr. Coffee wrote:So you're telling me that the one thing that actually seriously protected the site from troll invasions like this we just got rid of because it was a "pain in the ass". So you're saying that making the trolls job hard is a bad thing how, dickhead? Oh, so instead of being forced to join, keep a minimum of activity with an account in order to keep it from being purged, and actually plan and coordinate their shitheadery, they're now able to instantly join with obvious names like "anonlulz" or "ceepeelol" and post child porn at will. Because, oh sweet Baby Jesus, it was inconvenient to have a mod or an admin eyeball things.Beowulf wrote:That's was Mike's idea. And it wouldn't really have protected the board from troll invasions. They think they're Innernet Tuffguys. Posting that makes them look tough, and 'hard core'.Schuyler Colfax wrote:I turned it off the second I saw the "war shots" and "necrophilia", I could barely stomach that, it was pretty obvious that it was only gonna get worse from there.
Why do people look up that shit?
Actually, the TK raid had that. We had a former Village Idiot who redeemed himself, worked hard, to look good, etc, by the handle Raoul Duke Jr. He was a member for a couple years or so and supposed to be the "inside man".Mr. Coffee wrote:So you're saying that making the trolls job hard is a bad thing how, dickhead? You know that SOB actually lived down the street from me?Coyote wrote:Actually, the TK raid had that. But when they finally did their raid it was... I mean, it was like zombie uprisings: sure, the zombies get an initial, surprise round in because you don't expect it, but once aware of the problem, it was dealt with fairly quickly. For the amount of work and long-term planning that went into it, it really fizzled.
