[Discussion] Dennis Toy

Post by RedImperator »

User Dennis Toy is accused of violating AR3 twice and AR6 once, after being reprimanded by a supermod for a violation of PR5 in this thread.

Specifically, the user made a "torture spam" post (subsequently deleted by this supermod) in an N&P thread, violating PR5, where the same supermod has previously reprimanded other users for violating the same rule. After the post was deleted and the supermod publicly reprimanded the user, the user publicly argued directly with the supermod, violating AR3 and AR6. When informed of these violations, the user argued in public again, violating AR3 a second time.

The user has been previously titled by this body for multiple violations of debating rules and a general history of poor debating tactics. Given that the user already has a derogatory custom title, and that custom titles are not generally handed out as punishment for violating administrative and posting rules, I recommend a two week temp ban for user Dennis Toy.

Unfortunately it does seem that we have to do something about him, I say unfortunate because I personally find the way most points tend to streak miles above his head hilarious.

Edit:
Lets get back on subject.

I am sorry for the violations.

He seems to have the problem of not realizing he's screwed up until 15min too late (thus the I'm sorry post about a day after he was told to pipe down). Either a temp ban or a temp ban with postcount reset may be in order because he clearly hasn't tried to straighten out since his titling and yet he's apologetic enough that I don't think he has reached the level of permaban.

He's been warned. Time to ban.

I really couldn't care less, but I'm feeling merciful, so temp ban and next violation gets him a permanent bootprint on his posterior.

I support at the least a temporary ban. Here, you just don't argue with mods when they're doing their jobs; everyone knows this, especially someone who's been around as long as Dennis Toy. Backseat modding is a problem, but when an actual mod or supermod tells you to shut the fuck up, you apologize and shut the fuck up.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

The user in question has been warned about his behavior several times before. And I read through his posting history, and I try to dredge up some mercy, but he's not tickling my compassion threshhold. I'm not sure what good a temp-ban would really do for him. Besides keeping the subspecies of internet poster known as the Village Idiot off the endagered species list, that is.

Temp ban + reset.
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

He's been warned. He's got a custom title.

....I've had a very bad day.....

Fucking temp ban him, and if he doesn't get the hint THIS time boot him. The sick, sadistic fantasy posts REALLY piss me off.

Probably not, but let's do this by the book. I'll start a poll.
