Kill Bill Vol.2 vs Punisher
Okay, two really cool looking movies(well atleast to me) are coming out Friday. I'm gonna be seeing Kill Bill and may be sneaking into punisher. But here's the question, if you had to pick to see only one of these Friday to see, which one would you pick?

Tough choice...since I actually like the Punisher character(but from the CB adaption...something is telling me it won't quite live up to Garth Ennis' envisionment of Castle.)
So I'm going with Kill Bill.
And that crapactular usage of his nom de guerre as a catchphrase was just shit.

Whichever one has more violence and a higher bodycount, this'll likely be Kill Bill 2. I can't wait to see the reviews that stupid fundy website will give to either one of these movies, "there were 5000 acts of needless violence and 2322 uses of the most vile of vile words, and they took the lord's name in vain 985 times".

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

I haven't seen Kill Bill yet, so for now, i'd rather see the Punisher.

No, the Punisher will actually probably have a higher body count. There's no House of Blue Leaves in Vol. 2, only a few people get killed throughout the whole movie.aerius wrote:Whichever one has more violence and a higher bodycount, this'll likely be Kill Bill 2. Besides....Kill Bill 1 has one of the finest speeches of all time:
"O-REN: As your leader, I encourage you to -- from time to time and always in a respectful manner, and with the complete knowledge that my decision is final -- to question my logic. If you're unconvinced a particular plan of action I've decided is the wisest, tell me so. But allow me to convince you. And I will promise you, right here and now, no subject will be taboo...except the subject that was just under discussion.
The price you pay for bringing up either my Chinese or my American heritage as a negative is, I collect your fuckin head. Just like this fucker here. Now if any of you sonsabitches got anything else to say, now's the fuckin time.
I didn't think so. Meeting adjourned."

I can't say that I'm really looking forward to either of them.
For some reason I just can't get excited about the Punisher movie. It really just looks like another revenge flick except this time they bothered to have him wear his trademark skull shirt. Plus, John Travolta is in it. For some reason that makes me uneasy about the movie.
Besides, comic book or not, the Punisher is still essentially just another guy with guns. That's never been shown in a movie before has it? A guy with guns...taking out the bad guys. Nope, never seen that in a movie before.
From what the trailer has shown the only things I can see that this movie has going for it is the guy they cast for Frank Castle seems like a good choice, and they use the skull. Other than that the trailer doesn't show anything interesting.
As for Kill Bil vol. 2....I don't know. There were parts of vol. 1 that were cool and some nice visual and musical combinations but a lot of the movie was just off. So far I haven't seen anything in the advertisements for vol. 2 to make me think that it is going to continue with the good parts of vol. 1 instead of sticking with the cheesiness and over-the-top elements that left a bad taste in my mouth during the first movie. I also think Tarantino gets off on.... well way too many things and I think vol. 1 would have been a much better movie if he would reigned himself in a little.
Still, out of those two movies I'm probably more curious about Kill Bill vol. 2 so I'd have to say that I'm more inclined to see it. The parts of vol. 1 that I liked I really liked so here's hoping that vol. 2 primarilly continues along those lines.

Kill Bill 2 , hands down!
The Punisher never caught my intrest as a comic, much less as a feature film. Kill Bill on the other hand was one of the few movies I've gone to see on consecutive nights in the last 5 years! English lacks adjectives of sufficient power to describe how totaly I loved Kill Bill, so its only natural to say I'll be there on friday.

From the trailer it doesn't look significantly different from the previous Punisher movie except for the location, the cast and the skull. I'm guessing that it's probably better than the Dolph Lundgren version but I'll be surprised if it's a lot better.neoolong wrote:Kill Bill 2 probably.
From what I've read, The Punisher isn't supposed to be all that great of a movie.

I'm not allowed to see Kill Bill (yet I'm allowed to see virtually every other movie on the planet...) but that didn't stop me from seeing Volume 1, so I'l find a way to see Volume 2. However, I'll probably see The Punisher first, simply because it'll be easier and I won't have to do it on the down-low. I'd prefer to see Kill Bill first, though.
