Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Enlighten the west coaster. What is a "hound dog"? Is it any different from a non-hound dog?
Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.

You don't know what a HoundDog is?!?!?

Woah... my brain's been blown by that idea......

But, to answer your question:
Hound Dogs are any type of huntin' dog that tracks by scent. BloodHounds, BlueTick Hounds, BassetHounds, and even Beagles are all used by Good Ol' Boys to track down game, or just to have around to chase off trespassers. Most HoundDogs can be recognized easily by listening to them 'bay': a very distinctive sound that crosses barking and howling. When excited, any true HoundDog does not bark "WoofWoof", it bays "AWWHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! AWHOOFWHOOFWHOOF!AWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!"

West Virginia Engineering Exam

1. Calculate the smallest limb diameter on a persimmon tree that will support a 10 pound possum.
Can't rightly say we have persimmons in my neck of the woods...the possums round here generally get supported by live oak.
2. Which of the following cars will rust out the quickest when placed on blocks in your front yard? A.66 Ford Fairlane: B. 69 Chevrolet Chevelle: C.64 Pontiac GTO
Depends. If they're all hardtops, the Fairlane. If they're canvassed, the GTO.
3. If your uncle builds a still that operates at a capacity of 20 gallons of shine per hour, how many car radiators are necessary to condense the product?
Well, the Butterfield Still uses 1 truck radiator to make 10 gallons of 190 proof per hour, so I reckon 2 car radiators oughta make 20 gallons of decent shine an hour.
4. A pulpwood cutter has a chain saw that operates at 2700 rpm. The density of the pine trees in a plot to be harvested is 470 per acre .The plot is 2.3 acres in size. The average tree diameter is 14 inches. How many Budweiser Tallboys will it take to cut the trees?
Lessee...that's about 1100 trees. Assuming you're wanting to cut down ALL the trees, it'll be about 200 beers.
5. If every old refrigerator in the state vented a charge of R-12 simultaneously, what would be the decrease in the ozone layer?
O-what?
6. A front porch is constructed of 2x8 pine on 24-inch centers with a Field rock foundation. The span is 8 feet and the porch length is 16 feet. The porch floor is 1 inch rough sawn pine. When the porch collapses, how many hound dogs will be killed?
Well, it covers 128 square feet. A coonhound's about 2 feet from sternum to base of tail, so you could get 2 or 3 deep, and probably 12 to 16 wide, so between 24 and 48. On average, 36 hounds.
7. A man owns a house south of Beckley and 3.7 acres of land in a hollow with an average slope of 15%. The man has 5 children. Can each of the children place a mobile home on the man's land?
Sure. Just need to use some wood to shore up the low sides. 3.7 acres is plenty for six people to live on, long as they aim careful.
8. A 2-ton coal truck is overloaded and proceeding 900 yards down a steep grade on a secondary road at 45 mph. The brakes fail. Given the average traffic loading of secondary roads, what are the chances that it will strike a vehicle that has a muffler?
Don't know the average traffic loading in WV, and there ain't steep grades (or coal mines) nearby. All we got's phosphate. And my great-great-grandpappy was the last coal miner in the family.
9. A coal mine operates a NFPA Class 1, Division 2 Hazardous Area. The Mine employs 120 miners per shift. A gas warning is issued at the beginning of 3rd shift. How many cartons of unfiltered Camels will be smoked during the shift?
300 +/- 10%
10. At a reduction in gene pool variability rate of 7.5% per generation, how long will it take a town that has been bypassed by the interstate to breed a country western singer?
About two weeks. To breed a decent country western singer, about two centuries.
