Backwards American flags?

Post by Gandalf »

On the news of a night, whenever I see shots of American soldiers in Iraq. Oftentimes I see the US flag patch on their shoulders in backwards.

Is this just odd TV reversing the images? Or is there an actual reason?

ok. the flag is shown "backwards" to symbolize that the flag is always moving forward.

Place a flag on a pole and run with it. the flag will fly the same way as it is shown on the uniform. The stars forward strips trailing.

The blue starfield must be in the "forward" direction.
